14 yard or 18 yard?
A 14 yard dumpster is the smaller volume option. Consider it when you have a smaller cleanout or less material to remove. An 18 yard dumpster gives you four additional cubic yards for a bulkier load or a larger project.
Volume and weight are different limits. A larger container does not mean a larger included weight allowance. Heavy materials can reach the weight allowance before the dumpster is full. Describe your load when requesting a quote so we can help you choose.
14 and 18 yard dumpster dimensions
The yard size describes capacity in cubic yards, not the container’s exterior length, width or height. Four extra cubic yards of capacity does not tell you whether a container will fit in your driveway.
Contact NorthStar for the measured dimensions of the container being delivered and the truck clearance your site needs. Share the placement area’s length and width, the narrowest approach or gate, and any overhead restrictions.

Rental options and base prices
Each listed plan includes 3 tons (6,000 lb). Your final quote reflects the selected size, rental length, delivery location, and applicable options. Material categories do not change the base rental price. Extra weight and any additional charges are shown in your quote and rental terms.

The rental clock starts when your delivery is recorded as dropped, rather than when you submit the booking.
Confirm the space before delivery
- Tell us where the dumpster will sit and share any gate, driveway, or access restrictions.
- Ask us to confirm the exact container dimensions and truck clearance for your location before booking.
- Keep the planned placement and approach clear of vehicles, stored materials, and overhead obstacles.
- Tell us if placement would be on a street or shared property so permission and any local requirements can be checked first.
What to compare in your quote
Check the container size, rental length and delivery address first. Then review included weight, the extra-weight rate, and any applicable delivery, rush or optional-service charges. Your saved quote and rental terms control the charges for your booking; this guide does not calculate a final price.
A rental extension and an overdue invoice are different situations. Ask the team to confirm the schedule and any extension charge before keeping a container longer. Payment due dates and invoice terms are shown with your bill.
Loading, pickup, and swaps
Confirm your material category and loading limits before filling the dumpster. Keep material contained and do not load above the container sides. For brick and concrete, keep all material below the red fill line inside the dumpster; that line is the absolute maximum height. If you need more time, another container, or an earlier pickup, contact support so the change can be scheduled and any charge confirmed.
